Stallowner Benson Leong took over the stall from his father, who
started selling the dish at the age of seven during the Japanese
Occupation. The chicken meat is tender and smooth, and the chilli
sauce has the addictive taste of both sweet and sour. Lately, the
stall has reduced the amount of oil used in its rice to cater to
healthconscious customers. When the family took a break three years
ago, its former workers set up another stall of the same name in
Commonwealth Avenue Cooked Food Centre. Their version is also
extremely good but very much oilier.
